Breaking Through the Noise: Your Sanctuary Awaits

Another week navigating the hilarious obstacle course that is urban life in London. Picture this: slow walkers blocking Oxford Street like human roadblocks, e-scooters performing stealth missions through Putney High Street, and the eternal drama of escalator etiquette threatening to spark a civil uprising.

From contactless payment chaos on buses to the mysterious omnipresence of roadworks (complete with abandoned traffic cones), our beloved city is a comedy of urban errors. Tourists walking four-abreast, phone zombies drifting into your path, and that one person who still doesn't understand the sacred "stand on the right" escalator rule—it's a daily performance art of urban survival.

But here's the beautiful counterpoint: Tried & True.

We're your refuge. Your laugh track. Your momentary escape from the city's quirky chaos. Within these pages, we offer a different narrative—one of connection, humor, and breathing space. While the world outside feels like an improvisational comedy routine, we're serving up stories that remind you life isn't just about navigating urban mayhem, but about finding joy in the absurdity.

So settle in, take a deep breath, and let's celebrate these wonderfully weird city moments together—with perspective, wit, and just a touch of well-earned relaxation.

Rob & the Tried & True Team

Irish Beef Stew is more than just a hearty meal - it’s a dish deeply rooted in Ireland’s culinary heritage. Traditionally made with simple, wholesome ingredients like beef, potatoes, carrots, onions, and a rich broth, this dish has been warming bellies for centuries.

Historically, Irish stew was originally made with lamb or mutton, as cattle were considered more valuable for dairy production than meat. However, as beef became more accessible, it became a popular and flavourful alternative, creating the rich, slow-cooked dish we know today.

One of the key secrets to an exceptional Irish Beef Stew is time. Slow cooking allows the beef to become melt-in-your-mouth tender while the broth develops layers of deep, comforting flavors. Many recipes also include a splash of stout or red wine, which enhances the richness of the dish and adds depth to its savoury taste.

At T&T, our Irish Beef Stew has been a customer favourite over the past week, perfect for these chilly days. But here’s the catch - there are only 5 days left to enjoy it before we change our special menu for Mothers Day!

If you haven’t tried it yet, now’s your chance. And if you have, you know why you’ll want to grab another bowl before it’s gone.

Come by soon and enjoy this classic, cosy dish before it’s too late!
